A description of practice explains what someone says they do. A standard defines requirements. Certification adds independent assessment against a defined standard and scope. Readers should not assume that one of these automatically proves the others.
For any product claim, look for the named operator or producer, certification body, standard or programme, certificate identifier, covered product or activity, validity dates and evidence that the claim applies to the specific batch or supply relationship.
The Sri Lanka Standards Institution operates an Organic Product Certification Scheme. Its public guidance describes application review, site assessment, corrective action, certification decisions and continuing surveillance. A product should not be presented as certified organic merely because some practices appear compatible with organic principles.
Sri Lanka's Department of Agriculture states that SL-GAP certification covers good agricultural practices from planting to produce at the farm gate. The official certification portal provides directories and programme resources.
K1 Origins will display Organic and GAP assurance separately from K1 Collection or K1 Curated Collection. Collection membership describes a K1 relationship; it is not a substitute for certification.
